I’m going to add more in here, but I had to remove the generic WordPress entry. So, in a nutshell…
The subtitle of this blog is “About being a woman with Asperger’s Syndrome…” Full disclosure is that I have not been diagnosed officially–yet. We’re looking into that after the Munchie goes through the process. There’s a lot of debate about if I do or don’t. At the very least, I’m close to it with a hefty dose of ADD. There are many, many overlapping aspects, but I believe–for reasons that will become apparent–that yes, I fall in the range of Asperger’s Syndrome. You can find related topics under “Christy Fix’s Experiences.
I’m Christy Fix. The hubs is “Xife.” The almost-eight-year-old daughter who happens to have autism is Princess Zee, or “Munchie.” Her little brother, who is two and a half, is “Spunky.” We have two cats and a goldfish. One of the cats is a “tri-pawed” who lost her leg to her previous owner’s dog in April. She’s the “Snot-Rocket” because, well, she is. The other is a slightly overweight, lazy calico who still needs a nickname for the blog. Maybe “Lazy Dazy”? We’ll see.
Outside my immediate family unit, I have four siblings. Both of my brothers have a diagnosis of Asperger’s Syndrome. In true Aspie style, the one brother has studied it–thoroughly. Chances are that I won’t discuss my other brother. Unfortunately, there’s bad blood there on many levels. I believe there is far more than Asperger’s going on with that one, and much of it is darker than you want to know. The “good” brother is likely to be a guest blogger at some point. I need to come up with a nickname for him. Maybe “The Professor” or “The Brain.” We’ll see.
Welcome to the family!
